You asked two agencies to quote the same company website. One came back several times higher than the other. Both say "SEO-friendly", both say "responsive", and you have no way of telling which one is overpriced and which one is missing half the job.

Short answer: How much a website costs depends on what it has to do: its purpose, its content, stock imagery or original design, dynamic features and integrations, and technical work such as conversion tracking, Google Analytics, Search Console and SEO foundations. At our agency, a one-page site starts at TRY 14,900, a template-based company site at TRY 29,900 and a custom build at TRY 49,900 (excluding VAT). Below are four options by budget, followed by the nine cost drivers behind every quote. To discuss your project directly, see our website design services.

Website cost by budget: four options

Every budget has a starting point. The prices below are the starting price of the smallest scope that meets each need; they are not an upper limit. Additional scope (languages, content, features, integrations) moves the price up. Prices are in Turkish lira (TRY), excluding VAT.

One-page site (ready-made WordPress demo)One service, a campaign or a fast launchMobile-ready layout, form and CTA, basic SEO setup, SSLfrom TRY 14,900

As a rough guide: around TRY 15,000–30,000 gets you a one-page site; TRY 30,000–50,000 a template-based company site; TRY 50,000 and up a custom build or an online store. Larger stores start at TRY 100,000 and B2B systems with ERP integration at TRY 250,000.

Add-ons that raise the price

Why do website quotes differ so much for the same project?

Because "a website" is not one product. One quote may price design and setup only, while another includes copywriting, speed optimization, conversion tracking and a year of maintenance. The proposals use the same words, so the difference stays hidden until something goes wrong.

The problem is not the quote; it is how quotes get compared. Put the totals next to each other and the lowest one looks attractive. Put the line items next to each other and you see exactly what the cheaper quote leaves out.

These are the three situations business owners run into most often:

  • Finding out after launch that contact form submissions were never stored anywhere
  • Realizing months later that the "SEO-friendly" site does not show up on Google at all
  • Being charged separately every time a line of text needs to change

All three have the same root cause: the item was never written into the quote.

The 9 cost drivers of website pricing

These nine drivers explain nearly every website cost you will see. Each one comes with the question to ask the agency.

1. Number and type of pages

Page count matters, but page type matters more. A five-page brochure site and a site with a dedicated landing page for every service are different projects. Service, product, location and blog pages are each designed separately.

Ask: "How many pages and which templates are included? How are extra pages priced later?"

2. Custom design or a template

A template means filling someone else's design with your content. It is fast and keeps the budget down. A custom website is structured around your brand and your sales process. The difference between template pricing and custom design is usually the biggest single gap between quotes.

Ask: "Is the design built for us, or adapted from a theme? Who holds the theme license?"

3. Who writes the content?

Most quotes say copy and images are "provided by the client". Writing pages around real search terms and producing photos is separate work, and late content is the number one reason website projects slip.

Ask: "Who writes the copy? Is keyword research part of it?"

4. Number of languages

A second language is more than translation. Each language needs its own URLs, its own metadata and hreflang tags. If you sell abroad, this driver has a direct effect on revenue.

Ask: "Does each language get its own URLs? Is it translated, or written for how people search in that language?"

5. Forms, CRM and integrations

Every site has a contact form. The difference is where the lead goes: an inbox, a spreadsheet or your CRM. WhatsApp, booking, payments and accounting connections all sit in this driver.

Ask: "Where are form submissions stored? Is there spam protection?"

6. Speed and technical SEO

"SEO-friendly" means nothing on its own. Technical SEO is a list of concrete work: page speed (Core Web Vitals), structured data, an XML sitemap, a clean heading structure and redirects. If you are replacing an old site, a redirect plan protects the rankings you already have.

Ask: "Which technical SEO tasks are included? Will our old URLs be redirected?"

7. Analytics and conversion tracking

If you do not know how many forms, calls and WhatsApp messages the site produces, you cannot tell whether it works. Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, conversion events and a cookie consent banner belong here.

Ask: "Which conversions will be tracked, and whose name are the accounts in?"

8. Hosting, domain and SSL

Year one is often included; year two usually is not. Cheap shared hosting directly affects speed and security.

Ask: "What will hosting cost from year two? Who is the domain registered to?"

9. Maintenance and support

Software updates, security patches, backups and small content edits never stop. Without a maintenance plan, every small change becomes a new invoice.

Ask: "How long is support included after launch? Is maintenance monthly or billed per task?"

A template to compare website quotes

Enter every quote into this table. Write "included", "not included" or "extra" in each cell, and only look at the total once the table is complete.

Cost driverQuote AQuote BQuote C

Copywriting and photos
Languages (separate URLs)

Once it is filled in, two things become obvious: which quote is genuinely expensive, and which one is incomplete. The empty rows in a low quote are the work you will pay for later.

The hidden cost of a cheap website

The cheapest website quotes usually leave out drivers 6, 7 and 9. The site goes live and looks fine, but:

  • It loads slowly, so mobile visitors leave before the page appears.
  • It has no technical SEO foundation, so it does not rank and every visitor has to be paid for with ads.
  • Nothing is tracked, so you cannot see which part of the ad budget brings in leads.
  • Every small change needs a new quote.

Fix those gaps one by one over the following year and the total often exceeds what a correctly scoped website would have cost. And the site produced no customers in the meantime.

Example: why a B2B manufacturer and a local restaurant need different websites

The same budget produces very different results for two businesses, because the weight of each cost driver changes.

B2B manufacturer (exporting): A product catalog, downloadable technical documents, at least two languages and a quote form are critical. Traffic is low, but every lead is valuable. Drivers 4 (languages) and 5 (forms and CRM) take most of the budget.

Local restaurant: Menu, reservations, maps and speed are critical. The site's job is to turn visitors arriving from Google Maps into bookings. Driver 6 (speed) and local SEO matter most; multiple languages and a CRM are usually unnecessary.

Clinic or hotel with international guests: Languages, trust signals and a WhatsApp line come first. Our health tourism page shows how that structure is built.

The right question is not "how much does a website cost?" but "which cost drivers matter for my business?"

What it costs to hire a web design agency in Turkey

More international businesses now work with agencies in Turkey, and the reasons are practical. Rates are often lower than in Western Europe or the US for comparable work. Istanbul shares most of the European working day. And many agencies already build multilingual sites as standard, because their domestic clients sell abroad.

The rate, though, is the least important part of the decision. Before you hire any agency, in Turkey or anywhere else, make sure of three things:

  1. A written scope that lists each of the nine drivers as included or excluded.
  2. Ownership: the domain, hosting, analytics and ad accounts are registered to your business.
  3. Reporting: you will see forms, calls and messages from the site every month, not just traffic.

Our guide on how to choose a digital marketing agency covers the questions to ask before you sign.

Analyze, build, measure: how we turn scope into a fixed price

Starting prices point you in the right direction; your exact, single-figure price comes once the scope is clear. That is why every project starts with three steps:

  1. Analyze: We review your current site, your competitors and what visitors need to do on the site. Output: a short report showing which cost drivers you need and which you don't.
  2. Build: Design, content, technical SEO and integrations are built to the approved scope. Every driver is a separate line in the quote.
  3. Measure: From launch day, forms, calls and WhatsApp conversions are tracked in GA4, in accounts registered to you.

You know what every number in the quote pays for before you sign.

Who this approach is for

  • Businesses that expect the website to bring in leads every month
  • Decision makers who want to compare quotes by scope, not by headline price
  • Teams that plan to run SEO or ads with the website at the center

Who it is not for

  • Anyone looking only for the lowest possible price
  • Businesses that don't want to measure what the site produces
  • Teams that can't make time for content and approvals

Checklist: 5 things to prepare before you request a website quote

Prepare these five items and the quotes you receive will be clearer and far easier to compare:

  • The site's goal in one sentence (for example, "X quote requests per month")
  • The list of pages you need and the number of languages
  • Who will prepare the content: you or the agency
  • The systems it must connect to (CRM, WhatsApp, booking, payments)
  • Two or three websites you like, and why

Frequently asked questions

How much does a website cost with Premium Dijital? Starting prices, excluding VAT, are TRY 14,900 for a one-page site, TRY 29,900 for a template-based company site of up to 10 pages, TRY 49,900 for custom design and development, and TRY 50,000 for an e-commerce store. Extra languages, content, integrations and advanced features add to the price.

How much does a website cost? It depends on nine cost drivers: number and type of pages, custom design versus a template, who writes the content, number of languages, forms and integrations, speed and technical SEO, analytics setup, hosting and maintenance. Most of the gap between quotes comes from which of these are actually included.

Why are website quotes so different for the same project? Because the scope is different, even when the wording is the same. A low quote often covers design and setup only, while a higher one includes content, technical SEO, conversion tracking and a year of maintenance. Compare the line items before you compare the totals.

How much does a website cost per month to run? Ongoing costs include domain renewal, hosting, SSL, paid plugin or theme licenses, security updates and maintenance. Ask for the year-one and year-two costs in writing, because many quotes only cover the first year.

Is a template website or a custom website better for a small business? A template is faster and cheaper and works well for a simple brochure site. A custom website is built around your sales process and usually performs better on speed, differentiation and conversion. The right choice depends on how much of your new business is expected to come through the site.

Is it cheaper to hire a web design agency in Turkey? Rates in Turkey are often lower than in Western Europe or the US for comparable work, and Istanbul overlaps with European business hours. What matters more than the rate is a written scope, ownership of all accounts in your name and clear reporting.

Who should own the domain and website accounts? Your business, always. The domain, hosting, Google Analytics and Search Console should be registered to you, with the agency added as a user.
